ProofBound for Claude

Turn the books you draft with Claude into typeset PDFs — without leaving the chat. Add one connector, sign in, and Claude can render manuscripts and browse your library through your ProofBound account. It's free up to 50 renders a month; finish on the web with a professional cover and printing.

What it is

ProofBound for Claude is a connector — a small piece of plumbing you add to Claude by pasting a URL. Once it's connected, Claude can act on your ProofBound account when you ask it to.

The division of labor is simple: Claude writes, ProofBound typesets. You and Claude do the authoring — chapters, structure, voice — right in your conversation. When the manuscript is ready, ProofBound takes the markdown Claude wrote and turns it into a professionally typeset PDF you can download, print, or publish. ProofBound never writes your book for you; it makes what you wrote look like a real book.

It works in Claude Desktop, Claude on the web, and Claude Code.

Add the connector

  1. Open connector settings in Claude

Go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

  2. Paste the ProofBound connector URL

Use this address as the connector URL:

    https://mcp.proofbound.com/mcp
  3. Sign in and approve access

Claude will send you to ProofBound to sign in. You'll see exactly what access you're granting — reading your library and rendering your manuscripts — then click Approve. Your ProofBound password and session stay with ProofBound; Claude never sees them.

  4. Confirm it's connected

Back in Claude, ask "Who am I on ProofBound?" Claude should reply with the account you just signed in as. You're ready to go.

What you can do

Once connected, just ask Claude in plain language. Behind the scenes it uses these capabilities:

Write a book, guided

Ask Claude to help you write a book and it follows ProofBound's book-writing playbook — intake, design, outline, then chapter drafting — so you end up with a complete, render-ready manuscript.

Render to a print-ready PDF

When your manuscript is finished, ask Claude to render it. ProofBound typesets the markdown into a polished PDF in the background.

render_book

Check on a render

Rendering takes a moment. Ask "is my book ready?" and Claude reports progress and hands back a download link the instant it's done.

check_book_status

Browse your library

Ask Claude to show your books and it lists everything in your ProofBound library with status and download links.

What it costs

Writing and typesetting over the connector are free — up to 50 renders every 30 days. Re-render as often as you like while you polish your manuscript.

When you're ready to publish, finish your book on the web: ProofBound Basic ($49) adds a professional, print-ready cover and lets you order printed copies. Designed covers are web-only. See plans →

Free renders include a small ProofBound credit line in the book's front matter; it's removed when you finish on the web.

Account & privacy

The connector only sees what you send it through Claude — the manuscript text and the requests you make. Your ProofBound sign-in stays with ProofBound and never reaches the AI model.

To revoke access at any time, just tell Claude to disconnect from ProofBound. That signs you out everywhere the connector was active. For details on what we store and how we handle your data, see our privacy policy.
